Pregnancy is a time of tremendous transition in a woman’s body and life. While a specific prenatal class can be an excellent option during pregnancy, many yogis desire to attend their favorite regular drop-in classes. Students & yoga teachers alike may struggle to navigate safety recommendations and pose modifications with confidence. In this 1 day (10 hour) virtual module, we’ll review current ACOG (American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology) guidelines for pregnancy related exercise, discuss specific pose modifications, and focus on integration of pregnant students into the drop in class. Additional instruction on sequencing principles for prenatal classes, body temperature management, pose modifications by trimester and timing modifications so pregnant students can find rhythm and cohesion in a drop in class. Meditation and related Asana practice included. Recording available for 1 week following module.
Note: This is not a prenatal yoga certification (see Yoga Alliance for details on P-RYT 85 hr requirements).
Hours can be used towards a 300 hour certificate through Hot Asana Yoga University or towards continuing education requirements.
