My yoga journey began when I was about 14 years old and came to the point in my ballet career where I needed to decide whether I would continue to train to dance professionally or quit. All I wanted was a form of exercise that possessed the same fluidity as ballet and would allow me to stay flexible and strong. When I got to high school, I began to experiment with Bikram and loved the heat but didn't align with the discipline of the practice. Then, I tried to do the sports thing and played lacrosse during high school, but I soon realized that I belong in a studio, not on a field.

I eventually discovered hot vinyasa and immediately felt very drawn and empowered by the practice. I’m not sure what specific class I took/what meditative experience I had, but one day I experienced true stillness of the mind and suddenly everything changed – I stopped eating meat and started using crystals. After completing my teacher training at Asheville Yoga Center in August of 2018, I began to teach yoga, which has only deepened my personal practice and has helped me realize my passion for healing. I’m a certified Reiki level 2 practitioner, a birth doula, and I’m currently pursuing a degree in nursing and environmental studies at UNC-CH and hope to become a midwife. When I'm not on my mat I'm definitely at the library!
