“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” -The Bhagavad Gita

Hey, everyone! I’m Tanner. I was introduced to yoga in 2015 when I attended my first Hot Asana class. Now, majoring in Biological Sciences at NC State, my yoga journey truly helped shape me into the person I am today. We all come to the mat for our own reasons, whether that be to get a physical workout, to tune into our body and breath, or just to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, to stop, and smell the roses. I originally fell in love with the practice because it offered a solution to escape the bustling thoughts that flooded my mind as an anxiety-driven, stressed-out high school student. Now, yoga is part of my everyday life, and my love and passion for the practice grow each day.

Personally, my first hot yoga class was like a welcome home party that I didn’t know I had been missing. There was a feeling in my heart, a knowing, that yoga belonged in my life and that this practice would help me live my best life. I began my 200hr training in August of 2020; I had been waiting for a teacher training to be available in the area at a time that wouldn’t conflict with school and when I finally found it, I knew it was meant to be. My goal is to offer a class that inspires students to venture further into their own yoga journey, to take that leap of faith, trust themselves, and expand their practice to new heights.
