Hi! My name is Michelle. My yoga journey started as a physical practice to offset some of the abuse my body took from obstacle course racing and the training it required. Yoga was something I did periodically when I needed a good stretch after a tough race. This all changed in 2021 when the stress of working in public education post lockdown began to take its toll on me physically. I was almost constantly dealing with issues from my autoimmune disorder that previously, I rarely had. This started my search for something to heal my physical body, but what I found was something that has helped to heal my emotional and spiritual body. After 10 years, the OCR life is something I now visit on occasion and yoga is my constant. My yoga practice has helped me to accept that I can no longer constantly push my body as I once did and to stop fighting myself because of it. Stepping onto my mat gives me a chance to mindfully connect to my body and move in a way that is nurturing but also feels good for that day whether I spend the entirety of practice hitting every vinyasa or curled into child's pose. Ever the student, I wanted more, so I started my 200 hour training and have continued down the rabbit hole that opened.
