Yoga is not for the flexible; it is for the willing."
Growing up in North Carolina I spent my afternoons and summers living the sedentary/antisocial life. I didn't participate in sports and preferred the indoors to out. As a young adult I went to the gym sporadically and struggled with depression and anxiety, unaware of the disconnect between my mind and body. At 27 my yoga journey began and, the physical benefits aside, I quickly felt more aligned; more willing to trust myself and the process.
In an effort to inspire the willing I attended Hot Asana Yoga University in 2015 and earned my 200hr training certificate and completed my 300hr in 2023 with Siddhi Yoga out of Rishikesh. I’ve logged over 3,500 hours of teaching and continue to seek out new information completing trainings most recently with Yoga Medicine and Jason Crandell.
While I love a sweaty vinyasa flow I also thoroughly enjoy teaching static “hot yoga” style and yin yoga. In group classes I aim to challenge all bodies at all levels through creative sequencing & safe alignment while setting the vibe via specially curated playlists. I sometimes incorporate breathwork and meditation into classes and offer workshops that help students to delve deeper into certain postures.
Ultimately, my desire as a teacher is to hold space so you can experience what it’s like to be fully present in your body and aware of your power.
