Yoga has always been around my life intermittently, but it wasn’t until 2015 yoga truly found me during a really low point in my life. Divorce and moving to a completely new city left me lost, alone and seeking a community which I found in Hot Asana. Growing up as a competitive athlete, yoga challenged my ego and allowed me to focus on me instead of my teammates. I believe my mat is my sanctuary and Yoga has taught me through stressful deployments, personal hardships and celebrations- the mat will always be there. In 2018 during a deployment, coworkers asked to join my practice and I began to see the privilege becoming a yoga teacher has. I felt a call to continue in that journey and I began my YTT the following year while pregnant. During YTT I experienced personal growth like never before that translates to who I am as a mother and partner as a dual-military family, today. In 2020 I proudly completed my 200 hr YTT with Hot Asana. I strongly believe I will never finish being a yoga student which includes learning from those in my class.
