I first was introduced to yoga in 2006 and was immediately in love. I had a very demanding and high stress job at the time and Yoga provided a level of calm I couldn’t find anywhere else. After serving 10yrs in the Marine Corps sustaining injuries that follow me to this day, Yoga helps keep my body, mind, and emotions in the best possible condition. I returned to the tactical life as a civilian security contractor in 2008 and through tours with DOD, DOS, DEA, and OGA my practice followed me wherever I went and allowed me to share yoga with the wide array of people around me as their curiosity of what I was doing usually got the better of them! In my final tour in Afghanistan I (unofficially…LOL) started Hot Asana Jalalabad in an abandoned mobile office space and began regular “classes” via streaming online content and generally just helped point stuff out to the men and women looking to explore yoga for the first time or continue their existing practice. Upon my return in mid-2020, I was able to complete my 200hr training with Hot Asana University in Feb of 2021. While I still love a good Hot Flow I am drawn to the slower and more deliberate modalities of Holds, Yin, Restorative and Yoga Nidra, sometimes sprinkled with some Reiki just for good measure!
