Yoga nidra, or yogic sleep as it is commonly known, is an immensely powerful meditation technique that everyone from children to seniors can do. It is one of the easiest yoga practices to develop and maintain. While the practitioner rests comfortably in shavasana (lying on your back on the floor), this systematic meditation takes you through the pancha maya kosha (five layers of self), leaving you with a sense of wholeness and peace.
This simple 60 minute practice which anyone can do and incorporate into daily life at home will provide you an opportunity to reduce your levels of stress and allow you to truly rest, relax, and restore. All levels welcome
This 90-minute practice will be a focus of Yin/Yang asanas combined with meditation and pranayama.
Yin yoga is a slow-paced meditative style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time ranging from 2-5 minutes. Yin yoga was developed to penetrate deep into the connective tissue by applying moderate stress to the tendons, fascia, and ligaments. This practice allows for expanding flexibility, increasing circulation in the joints, and cultivating awareness of inner silence which will allow healing and loosening of energetic blockages to increase the flow of prana or chi.
Yang yoga is a more traditional hatha, ashtanga, or vinyasa based yoga practice that develops muscular strength, stamina, and flexibility without the lengthy holds. Yang yoga focuses more on Sun Salutations and dynamic strengthening poses or sequences to work on the yang tissues-the muscles, blood, and skin.
When combined you will leave feeling truly balanced with an energizing and uplifting first half of class (Yang) followed by a quiet and deeply introspective second half of class (Yin). All levels welcome
This non heated 90 minute practice will allow students to dive deeper into Yoga with a combination of Philosophy, Krya, Asana, Pranyama, and Meditation. Students can expect to experience yoga in a whole new way to allow a deeper connection to their practice and have a clear understanding of what Yoga truly is all about.
This non heated 90 minute class will cover the fundamental alignment points of handstand through a study of the dynamic and interconnected movements of the yoga vinyasa, particularly down dog, plank, and chaturanga.
And use the breath for moving into meditation, fully awaking the senses.
