RYT 200 My yoga journey began in Oregon in 2006 when I found myself in a Bikram Yoga class on a first date; he never saw a second date, but I fell in love with yoga that day. At the time, I was practicing Jiu Jitsu and working as a skydiving instructor, both of which took a physical toll on my body. Yoga quickly became the perfect complement to my active lifestyle. Since then, my relationship with yoga has evolved. I took a long break from yoga when I moved across the country with my husband, thinking I would come back to it when things “settled down". When I finally found my way back to my mat at Hot Asana in 2013, I was struggling with depression and anxiety. Through yoga, I was able to find space to quite my mind and regain control of my thoughts. I found the strength I was building through each Vinyasa wasn’t just physical, but mental and emotional as well. Yoga has been a powerful part of my journey to healing, leading me to completed my 200 hour Teacher Training with Virginia Gallagher and Lisa Tiffany at Hot Asana University in Southern Pines, NC in 2017. As a teacher, I strive to empower my students through energetic and mindful exploration of physical motion that creates a sense of well-being throughout the body and mind, with classes that emphasize playfulness, inclusion, and connectivity.
